And So We Begin…

Hi!  What uuuuupppp?!

It all started with my “e-mail blogging” on my yearly trips to Sweden (expensive trips to visit the in-laws).  It went from….“Keep us updated on what you are doing” to “I can’t wait to read your Swedish adventures this year!”  Now here I am.  Writing from Arkansas.  Arkansas.  Formerly known as the Toothpick State.  Home of the World’s Championship Duck Calling Contest and the original inspiration for the People of Walmart.  Almost as exciting as Europe.

If you ask most people who know me…they would agree that I usually have a lot to say.  The silence around me is usually the awkward kind, so I tend to fill that space with engaging (possibly annoying) conversation.  I tend to break the silence in an elevator, and no one ever makes it an entire airplane ride next to me without at least answering a question or two.  Bless their hearts.  I actually talk for a living.  I get to hang out with and educate people on a daily basis.  Scary, I know.

I talk more than some (ok…most), but I rein it in with my love of writing.  One good thing about residing in small town America is that there is some great people-watching. Riverfest!  I mean…can you expect any less when you have an annual Cornbread Festival…and the first annual Bacon Fest is already lined up for 2018? Bacon Fest.  I’m imagining samples from different restaurants displaying many different ways in which you can baconate your food…and possibly the opportunity to compete in a bacon-eating contest.  When it comes to bacon…I could eat most people under the table.  Good people-watching and writing go hand-in-hand (Unless you are like J.K. Rowling…who can pull wizards and muggles out of her heinie and make billions on it.).  I love Harry Potter.

I’m big city at heart.  I would move yesterday…but don’t tell my mom.  I watch more TV shows than my DVR can keep up with, and I find a Friday date night at the movie theater (love a big screen) just as exhilarating as I did when I was 16.  Who doesn’t like to eat popcorn and make out?!  My ultimate life goal is to live in a city where a Trader Joe’s exists. I know…ambitious.  I genuinely just love the hustle and bustle of life.

  1. I’m usually conflicted most of the time between a love for fast paced city life and a longing for peaceful country life. 😉 Looking forward to many more of your blogs. 💕
